Collaborate Recruitment is working with a leading manufacturing company to find an experienced Health & Safety professional to work across two sites. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in QHSE.

Job Description:

This role will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining agreed QHSE standards, working as part of a team and engaging with staff across all levels in the business. You will be responsible for educating and encouraging employees to abide by and understand Health and Safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining quality, safety, and environmental systems, including implementing, auditing, and updating all associated documentation to achieve compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Identifying and implementing initiatives to improve systems, including procedures and processes.
  • Carrying out and offering support/advice on Risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH.
  • Monitoring, auditing, and reporting on QHSE performance, providing feedback and advice to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Developing, maintaining, and improving the business integrated Management system to underpin QHSE and operating standards.
  • Maintaining a risk register, reviewing QHSE risks, and escalating where necessary.
  • Maintaining a legal register to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Supporting the training and development of all staff to ensure awareness and understanding of QHSE standards.
  • Holding meetings and training sessions with staff to ensure that health and safety standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Implementing and monitoring emergency management plans across all sites, ensuring a robust line of escalation exists.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a QHSE or Health & Safety position, ideally in a standalone capacity.
  • Relevant/recognised Health & Safety/Environmental qualification (Diploma level or equivalent) along with experience in ISO 9001, 14001, 18001.
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety qualification preferred to level 3.
  • NVQ level 4/5 Occupational Safety and Health Practice.
  • IMEA (Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment) preferred.
  • Experience in audit, specifically Achilles and RISQS accreditations.
  • Excellent communication skills with a persuasive nature.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a self-motivated approach to your work schedule.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to think on your feet.
  • Confidence to build and maintain strong work relationships with colleagues and senior management.

Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
