At Nationwide Building Society, we're seeking a seasoned Security Consultant to join our Security Consultancy team. As a Security Consultant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the security and resilience of our services and systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough security risk assessments and provide expert recommendations on controls to mitigate risks.
  • Assess the impact of change initiatives and ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Advise on the implementation of security controls, ensuring they meet the desired security outcome and are operationally viable.
  • Support change initiatives in navigating and utilizing our central security services, including security monitoring, penetration testing, and access management.
  • Assure that security control requirements are met, collaborating with our Application Security Testing team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for security and resilience-related queries, challenges, and escalations.

About You:

  • You'll possess in-depth knowledge of IT security and information security, with developed people skills.
  • Experience in a Security Consultancy role or a related discipline is essential, along with relevant professional certifications.
  • You'll have a robust understanding of risk and control methodologies, as well as experience with practical risk assessment.
  • A developed understanding of industry standards, frameworks, and best practices is also required.
  • You'll be a resilient and highly motivated self-starter with excellent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • You'll be able to communicate complex risks and issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive critical business decisions.
