Job Title: Agile DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Agile DevOps Engineer to join our team at the Intellectual Property Office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our software development lifecycle, applying DevOps principles and leading on developing, implementing, enhancing, and managing DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support all aspects of the software development lifecycle, applying DevOps principles and leading on developing, implementing, enhancing, and managing DevOps practices.
  • Apply industry best practices and patterns across infrastructure and application components, ensuring availability, security, performance, and scalability.
  • Lead on the design, release, and implementation of automated, repeatable, efficient delivery pipelines and hold responsibility for the management, delivery, and improvements of the deployments onto Production.
  • Lead delivery, integration, administration, and configuration of DevOps tools, seeking continual improvement and ensuring effective transition onto operational support.
  • Implement and configure DevOps specific monitoring, alerting, auditing, and notification strategies and be an advocate for security and performance standards in the organisation.
  • Identify, track, and support managing of DevOps specific risks and issues in adherence to established reporting standards.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and experience of working in a DevOps or iterative development culture.
  • Excellent knowledge and proven experience implementing continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) tools, including pipeline design and administration.
  • Experience with automated testing and embedding this in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrable experience in service support including troubleshooting and incident resolution.
  • Experience in identification and tracking of risks and issues.
  • Experience leading Releases through environments.
  • Terraform authoring / upgrading / refactoring in Azure.
  • Azure DevOps Repos, Azure DevOps YAML Pipelines.
  • Deployed Apps/APIs via Azure DevOps YAML Pipelines (not just Cloud infrastructure).
  • Azure, Azure cloud native services.
  • Azure AppService.
  • Git.
  • Bash.
  • Python.
  • Powershell.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
