Sports Coach/Trainer

We are seeking a dedicated Sports Coach/Trainer to lead our Saturday Night Lights Teen Program. This part-time position requires coaching games that promote equal playing time, encouraging teens to develop their physical skills and healthy competition.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience coaching children or teens in a structured setting. A content expert in a designated sport with a coaching license is preferred. Knowledge of youth development stages and attendance at the YMCA Coaching 101 Training within 90 days of hire are also required.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead groups or teams of teens in designated sports
  • Promote enjoyment of sports while improving physical competence and confidence
  • Coach games that allow for equal playing time
  • Be available for the program on Saturday evenings

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience coaching children/teens in a structured setting
  • Content expert in designated sport(s)
  • Coaching license in respective sport preferred
  • Knowledge of youth development stages
  • Must attend the YMCA Coaching 101 Training within 90 days of hire
  • Must receive the CDC HEADS UP Concussion in Youth Sports certificate within 30 days of hire
  • Must complete the Child Abuse Prevention Training within 30 days of hire
