Job Title: Electrical Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead our team in delivering high-quality electrical projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of projects related to the construction and installation of electrical systems for new and existing buildings and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify and procure materials, equipment, and labor required for projects.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors and other vendors.
  • Ensure projects comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including Health and Safety regulations.
  • Communicate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements are met and address any issues raised.
  • Manage the quality of work and ensure projects meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Manage project financials, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Manage the project team, including assigning tasks and responsibilities, providing guidance and direction, and evaluating performance.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously monitor project progress and ensure scope, time, and cost are in line with the project plan and budget.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project team members.
  • Provide training to team members to improve their technical and professional skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, industry trends, and best practices in project management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure continued business opportunities.
  • Manage the project aftercare process and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Continue to improve the project management process and methodologies, including development and implementation of project management systems and procedures to be more efficient and effective.
Requirements:
  • HNC, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in project management or an electrical-related discipline (or equivalent).
  • SSSTS or SMSTS Qualification (or equivalent).
  • Driver's License.
  • Project management certification, such as APMP from APM.
  • Significant experience in managing electrical power distribution projects, particularly in the energy or utility industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including customers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to interpret complex requirements, identify any risks, and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills with a strong ability to forward plan.
  • In-depth knowledge of HV/LV cable laying, switchgear installation, cable jointing, and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of commercial terms and conditions and the impact it will have on project delivery.
  • Computer literate (particularly with Microsoft Project).

Experience in leading complex projects and project management methodologies and tools, as well as electrical safety standards and regulations. Experience in delivering projects that meet customer needs and expectations. Experience in managing project budgets and controlling costs. Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations and ensuring that projects are carried out safely and in compliance with the relevant regulations.
