About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Neurodevelopmental CAMHS team as a Clinical Psychologist. The team works with young people with a diagnosed moderate to severe Learning Disability and provides assessment and treatment for Autism and ADHD. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will provide specialist clinical assessments and interventions for children and their families/carers.

Main Responsibilities

Provide specialist clinical assessments and interventions for children and their families/carers
Work with the Neurodevelopmental CAMHS team to provide a comprehensive service for young people with ASD, ADHD, and/or a Learning Disability
Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement treatment plans

Person Specification

Essential
  • Postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings

Desirable
  • Chartered clinical psychologist
  • Experience of teaching, training, and/or supervision

Skills and Abilities

Essential
  • Excellent skills of assessment, formulation, evaluation, and treatment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with service users, their families, and other professional colleagues

Knowledge and Understanding

Essential
  • Highly developed knowledge of lifespan developmental psychology and models of psychopathology
  • Good knowledge of psychological evidence-based interventions applicable to referred clients

Desirable
  • High level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised psychological therapies
  • Knowledge of legislation in relation to children and mental health
