Job Overview

The Transformation Unit is seeking a skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for performing non-invasive investigation procedures, including exercise studies, Duplex scanning, and exercise tests at the request of the surgical team.

Main Duties

  • Conduct non-invasive investigation procedures, including exercise studies and Duplex scanning, to assess patients' vascular health.
  • Report results of procedures in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Manage a defined caseload of patients who attend for annual exercise studies.
  • Keep accurate clinical records of studies performed.
  • Participate in and contribute to the ethical research process.
  • Ensure patients receive a high standard of care.
  • Liaise with nurses and nurse specialists to promote patients' health, safety, and comfort.
  • Be aware of and contribute to the changing role of the clinical vascular scientist.
  • Refer and report any untoward incidents to medical and nursing staff as necessary.
  • Ensure trust policies are complied with.
  • Be responsible for the economic use of resources within the department.

Person Specification

  • Relevant MSc/BSc qualification in Science.
  • Accredited/registered Vascular Technologist with the SVT.
