Deckhand Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our bridge team in the Shetland Islands. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work on a variety of vessels and contribute to maintaining the safety of navigation, preventing collision, and ensuring the well-being of passengers.

• Operate and maintain fire-fighting devices and life-saving equipment to ensure the highest level of safety on board.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, utilizing effective communication and observational skills to minimize risks.
• Travel throughout the Shetland Islands at short notice, including areas with limited public transport, to support the team's operations.
• Work 42.78 hours per week, including contracted overtime, to meet the demands of this critical role.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work in a team environment, excellent communication and observational skills, and a flexible attitude to adapt to changing circumstances. A basic knowledge of safety procedures is essential.

The salary for this position is £39,235.08 per year, inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance and unsocial allowance, making it an attractive offer for individuals looking for a stable income.
