About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our Virology team. The successful candidate will work closely with our laboratory team to provide high-quality testing and analysis of virology samples.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and designate a range of testing on various samples using virological and serological techniques.
  • Process clinical specimens and undertake related tasks in the laboratory, interpreting results in accordance with agreed policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Organise work in the allocated area of the laboratory and keep up to date with SOP changes.
  • Interpret and report on routine and specialist virology laboratory tests, in accordance with laboratory protocols.
  • Assist in the production and dissemination of laboratory reports, data and statistics.

Requirements

  • State registered Biomedical Scientist with 3+ years post-registration experience in Virology.
  • Completed training portfolio and experience of a Laboratory Information System (LIM).
  • Good understanding of basic theoretical and practical microbiology.
  • Ability to work unsupervised in a Virology laboratory.
