Job Title: Assistant Depot Manager

At Go Traffic Management, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Depot Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Depot Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day activities of our depot, ensuring that all client KPIs are met and the depot operates in a profitable and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of operatives to ensure a high standard of work is maintained
  • Update the Ops Board and Insphire to ensure all jobs are completed electronically
  • Carry out site-specific checks on site set-ups to ensure safety and compliance
  • Perform daily checks on Daily Vehicle Check forms and review Weekly Gang Check forms to ensure compliance across the fleet
  • Complete log books for all IPV and 7.5T vehicle activity
  • Complete the Weekly Yard Check to ensure the depot remains compliant with customer and GTM requirements
  • Ensure the completion of one site audit per operative per month, working with the Depot Manager to ensure LRQA compliance
  • Provide 24/7 call-out service via the Rota system and complete the night handover email
  • Assist the Depot Manager with out-of-hours duty management and ensure the Weekend Handover is completed and passed to the Regional Manager
  • Deliver team compliance briefs with the Depot Manager and provide input for the Monthly/Bi-Monthly Team Brief for the Support Services Manager
  • Ensure all Speeding Forms and Recharges are handled and returned within the week
  • Liaise with the Depot Manager regarding kit levels
  • Complete the weekly Damaged Plant Report and the Owned/Hired Heads Report
  • Work closely with the Depot Manager to recruit staff and ensure all members of staff receive the appropriate induction, training, and probationary reviews
  • Manage disciplinary procedures in conjunction with the Depot Manager
  • Liaise with clients regarding site queries and support TM Operatives with any site queries
  • Complete 100% checking of timesheets and submit for processing every Monday
  • Resolve pay queries for operatives
  • Manage the team's holiday diary and update the Ops Board accordingly
  • Attend client site visits and complete site surveys
  • Work with the Business Development Team and Commercial Team to complete quotations
  • Be commercially aware of jobs requiring subcontractor assistance and ensure all Subcontractor Applications are correct and in accordance with bookings
  • Complete the Invoice Run review as provided by the Regional Back Office Manager
  • Attend the weekly P&L call with the Commercial Team and Regional Manager to ensure the depot is performing in line with the weekly forecast
  • Assist the RBO Team with CAD/site sketches and answer TMA queries on a daily basis
  • Report HR issues to the Depot Manager and assist in their resolution
  • Manage all events from start to finish, including attendance on the day to ensure they are delivered safely and to the highest standards
Requirements:
  • Lantra 12A, B, C, and D, 002, 010 qualifications
  • Preferably Lantra LTMO or TSCO qualifications
  • Full clean driving license
  • Experience in reading and relaying information on utility drawings
  • Experience using CAD to generate TM drawings
  • Auditing experience or training qualifications an advantage
