Job Description

The role of a Supportive Learning Coach is to provide one-to-one guidance and support to students in an alternative provision school. This is a long-term, full-time position that will run for the remainder of the academic year.

This Orpington-based alternative provision school has recently joined a new academy and boasts an inclusive and supportive environment for staff and students. The school has a strong focus on the well-being of young people and provides support from a multi-professional team and experts.

About the Role

This position requires someone with a passion for teaching students who struggle with mainstream school. The ideal candidate will have experience being a Learning Mentor or similar role and possess strong behaviour management skills. They should be able to work effectively with teenagers in a secondary school setting and have a patient, calm and engaging classroom manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one guidance and support to students
  • Work with students on a 1:1 or classroom basis to improve their motivation and learning
  • Assist students in activities that promote independence and help them reintegrate into mainstream school

Requirements

  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Experience working with teenagers in a secondary school setting
  • Patient, calm and engaging classroom manner
  • Strong communication skills

Salary

The salary for this position is £25,000-£35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
