About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Residential Care Worker to join our team at Cornwall Council. As an Outstanding Children's Services Authority, we offer fantastic career opportunities within our Residential Care Sector for individuals who want to work with disabled children and young people.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be part of a skilled team providing direct care and support to ensure the best outcomes for disabled children and young people. You will encourage the children to have fun, learn, grow, and develop in a safe way. Key duties and responsibilities are outlined in the role profile.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies. The position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

We currently have Residential Care Worker vacancies across Cornwall, as well as one full-time and one part-time (0.68) Waking Nights Residential Care Worker vacancy at our home in Gwennap.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Ideally, you are enthusiastic about making positive changes in the lives of disabled children. You should be child-centered, able to use your own initiative, and work as part of a team. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and partnership working when working with parents and other professionals. You should have or be willing to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care, which the Council will fund.
