Finance Systems Specialist

We are seeking a talented Finance Systems Specialist to join our team in Malvern. Our council is passionate about developing its staff, and we offer great opportunities for career progression.
Job DescriptionThis varied role supports the day-to-day operation and on-going development of financial systems for Malvern Hills District and Worcester City Councils. You will work as part of a knowledgeable team who are dedicated to delivering excellent services.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the maintenance and improvement of financial systems, ensuring efficient processing and accurate results.
- Support the team in investigating and resolving system-related issues, demonstrating a logical approach to problem-solving.
- Develop and maintain expertise in accounting systems, including Excel formulas and pivot tables, bank transaction processing, and other relevant software.
- Contribute to the implementation of new financial systems, working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration.
- Maintain high levels of numeracy and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills, with a systematic and thorough approach.
- Proven investigation skills, with the ability to analyse processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Excel, accounting systems, and other relevant software.
- Familiarity with basic accounting practices, accounting systems, and processes, as well as IT infrastructure.
- A high level of numeracy and attention to detail.
- Ideal experience includes working with IT providers and using BAC's software, Civica systems (Financials and Purchasing), and Adelante systems (SmartPay 6 Income Management and Bank Reconciliation).
