The Role

As Assistant Manager or Manager in the Corporate Tax team, you will handle the compliance affairs of clients and related advisory matters. You will also play an integral role in planning and reviewing the work of the team, providing support to ensure the completion of projects, and actively seeking any new business opportunities arising with existing and new clients. There will be opportunities to continue developing your technical skills and knowledge through a blend of on-the-job experience and formal training.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee a portfolio of corporation tax compliance projects, including assisting in tax provisioning work and interacting with HM Revenue and Customs on enquiry matters.
  2. Plan tax compliance timetables and liaise closely with client teams.
  3. Manage all day-to-day tax compliance affairs of clients and be involved with related advisory matters, acting as a liaison between the client and other specialist teams within the firm.
  4. Fulfil a consultancy role on ad-hoc projects within your field of knowledge.
  5. Build and maintain strong client relationships at senior levels, developing a strong commercial understanding of their business.
  6. Assist Partners with the implementation and communication of new business strategies for existing clients, target clients, and internal business.
  7. Identify risk and technical matters while exercising judgement within agreed parameters.
  8. Ensure adherence to the firm's quality control procedures as appropriate.
  9. Be an effective member of the management team by being an ambassador of the firm, participating in office marketing events, and keeping abreast of the wide range of services the firm offers.
  10. Significant understanding of and previous experience within tax compliance and tax advisory.
  11. Strong corporate tax technical skills over a broad range of issues and the ability to research and conclude on new/developing tax technical issues.
