Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Fire Systems Project Engineer to join our team in the North East region. This is a key role that requires technical expertise, project management skills, and excellent communication abilities.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing small and large projects across our portfolio, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. This will involve technical engineering, installation, and commissioning of fire systems, as well as liaison with clients to meet programme deadlines and maintain profitability, health, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Technically engineer/install and manage small and large projects while controlling and planning commissioning works.
- Liaise with key clients to ensure programme deadlines are achieved while maintaining profitability, health, safety, and quality standards.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Process cost sheets to the purchasing department.
- Plan and control labour and materials required to deliver the project.
- Ensure all engineering paperwork is allocated to engineers and following project completion ensure commissioning completed correctly.
- Provide technical expertise as required on projects.
- Attend site meetings as required.
- Line management of engineers and subcontractors as assigned, including management of employees.
- Manage job profitability of assigned projects and report into the project manager.
- Control all aspects of health and safety on sites.
- Carry out installation and commissioning of systems and minor works when required.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in the fire systems industry.
- Experience of engineering projects across single and multiple site locations.
- Demonstrable technical experience with good interpersonal skills.
- Technical knowledge of major systems and projects.
