Job Title: Year 6 SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant to work with a Year 6 pupil on a 1:1 basis in a Lambeth school.

About the Role

In this role, you will be working closely with a pupil with behavioural issues and learning difficulties in year 6. You will need to have a background in sport and be able to keep up with the pupil's pace. In the afternoon, you will also be involved in general teaching assistant work, such as assisting the class teacher, preparing resources, and supporting other pupils in the class.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with a Year 6 pupil on a 1:1 basis to support their learning and behaviour
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson planning and delivery
  • Prepare resources and materials for lessons
  • Support other pupils in the class as needed
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in education, childcare or SEN, or equivalent experience
  • Good understanding of the needs of pupils with learning difficulties and sensory needs
  • Positive and flexible attitude, and a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
