Pharmaceutical Materials Scientist

We are seeking a skilled Pharmaceutical Materials Scientist to join our team at Eurofins PSS Ireland Ltd. This is a permanent full-time position, working a 35 hour week, flexibly between Monday – Friday 07:00 – 19:00.

The estimated salary for this role is €45,000 - €60,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

This role involves performing characterisation and analysis of pharmaceutical raw materials and drug substances, with respect to their material properties and produce accurate results within an acceptable timeframe.

  • Perform routine and non-routine analysis using traditional and modern analytical techniques, as required to support investigational studies undertaking a range of physical and analytical testing.
  • Contribute to assigned project team by providing feedback on experimental protocols, data summaries and initial interpretation of data according to assigned timelines.
  • Identify any opportunities for improvement of quality and service and work with the wider team to implement continuous improvement.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
  • A fundamental knowledge of material science testing in respect of pharmaceutical actives and excipients and a knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting analytical equipment related to Material Science, and Drug Product manufacture would be advantageous.
