About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Criminal Justice Recovery Specialist to join our team at Change Grow Live. As a key member of our service, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals identified through the Criminal Justice System to reduce substance misuse-related harm and re-offending.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver DRR/ATR intervention in line with National Probation Service (NPS) court order requirements.
  • Provide a seamless link between police/court custody suites, prison, and the community.
  • Provide information for courts and other criminal justice agencies on the suitability for drug treatment interventions.
  • Provide recovery planning and review, as well as structured group work within the Foundations of Recovery/Rehabilitation framework if needed.
  • Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community.
  • Promote carer, service user, and community involvement.
  • Provide advocacy for access to partnership services.
  • Work with individuals to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
About You

To thrive in this role, we are looking for an individual who:

  • Possesses an understanding of substance misuse and relevant experience in this field or a related area.
  • Has knowledge of the Criminal Justice system.
  • Understands effective interventions that lead to a reduction in drug-related crime.
  • Is an excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with good IT skills.
  • Is proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Has a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice.
  • Is a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
