Location: Remote (with occasional office visits)

Job Description:

We are a private Urology practice, based in Surrey, Hampshire, and London, seeking an experienced and skilled Medical Secretary to join our team. As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to our consultants, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide secretarial services to our consultants, including transcribing dictation, typing reports, and managing clinic and theatre schedules.
  • Liaise with GPs and hospital departments to obtain test results and ensure they are uploaded to patient records.
  • Manage consultant diaries and time, including clinic and theatre schedules, and send lists to relevant hospital departments.
  • Audio and copy typing of clinic and procedure letters.
  • Ensure accurate and timely notification of procedures to relevant hospitals and parties.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Medical Secretary.
  • Proficient knowledge of transcribing dictation and excellent typing skills.
  • Strong administration and IT skills, with ability to learn quickly and adapt to situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Awareness of statutory confidentiality requirements for data protection.

Working Hours and Days:

This is a part-time job role, working alongside a job share to form a team of 2 secretaries looking after 2 consultants. The role is a hybrid of working from home and office-based, with days worked in the office based around consultant clinic or theatre schedules.
