We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plumbing and Heating Training Specialist to join our team at Octopus Energy Services. As an Apprentice Trainer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering apprenticeship training programs for our Low Carbon Heating Technician apprentice employees.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop comprehensive training materials, including presentations, handouts, and interactive activities, to ensure apprentices acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviours to perform their jobs effectively.
- Collaborate with technical experts within Octopus to ensure accuracy and relevance of training content, aligning with industry trends and best practices.
- Customise the delivery of training programs to meet the specific needs of individual learners, adapting to different learning styles and preferences.
- Conduct training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques, such as lectures, group discussions, case studies, and simulations, to engage and educate apprentices.
- Evaluate participants' knowledge and skills before, during, and after training sessions, using assessment tools such as quizzes, tests, or observations, to measure learning outcomes.
- Provide clear instructions and explanations to ensure understanding of complex concepts, and offer constructive feedback to help apprentices improve their performance.
- Monitor your own training effectiveness and work with the quality team to implement suggested improvements, ensuring continuous quality enhancement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new training techniques, and apply this knowledge to enhance training programs.
- Seek feedback from participants and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement, and update training materials and methods accordingly.
- Relevant training qualification, such as TAQA.
- Proven experience as a trainer or facilitator, preferably in a corporate or educational setting.
- Experience assessing apprentices and developing training programs.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of participants.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with technical experts and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Proficiency in using training software and multimedia tools.
- Experience in the plumbing and heating industry, with a strong understanding of Low Carbon Technology and its applications.
