Join VickerStock as a Health and Safety Manager

VickerStock is partnering with a leading supplier of materials for the construction industry to find a skilled Health and Safety Manager. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting a safe working environment, conducting thorough risk assessments, and implementing effective health and safety policies.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the Health and Safety budget and maintain the site's safety systems
  2. Oversee and improve the Health and Safety program, ensuring legal compliance
  3. Regularly update risk assessments and safe work systems to align with site operations
  4. Conduct specialised risk assessments (e.g. Manual Handling, COSHH) to meet standards and legal requirements
  5. Support site teams with statutory inspections and ensure machinery safety
  6. Manage emergency procedures and fire safety in line with policies and risk assessments
  7. Report RIDDOR incidents to HSE and manage related correspondence
  8. Investigate accidents/incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence
  9. Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation and company accreditations
  10. Support business units by promoting Health and Safety best practices
  11. Organise and lead H&S meetings and present monthly performance reports to senior management
  12. Collaborate with Business Partners and HR to implement Health and Safety strategies, training, and compliance
  13. Manage the Health and Safety compliance schedule, internal audits, and inspections
  14. Perform various administrative tasks related to Health and Safety
Requirements
  • At least 3 years' experience in a Health and Safety role
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH)
  • Experience in implementing and managing hazard identification and risk management processes
  • Thorough knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Experience in conducting Health and Safety investigations
  • Experience in managing and implementing Health and Safety management systems
  • Demonstrable experience in building relationships with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders
Desirable
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety certification
  • ISO Lead Auditor Training
