About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy and Research Manager to join our team at Reed in Partnership. As a key member of our business development team, you will play a critical role in developing policy and research work across a wide range of public service areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policy and research initiatives to inform and influence policy makers, build our reputation, and improve our services.
  • Collaborate with our staff and stakeholders to understand key issues and policy developments in new sectors.
  • Manage longer-term research projects and produce articles and reports for publication.
  • Build and maintain relationships with sector experts, membership bodies, think tanks, and government at all levels.
  • Contribute to cross-team projects that focus on driving policy and practical change on topics of importance to the people we serve.

Requirements
  • Demonstratable knowledge of and enthusiasm for public policy, particularly public services.
  • Excellent analysis and research skills, with experience of working in a policy, government, public affairs, or research role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels of an organisation, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent project and time management skills, with the ability to think flexibly and creatively to analyse and devise policy solutions.
Desirable Criteria
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more of the following topics: labour market/employment, health or disability, environment, skills or assessment, devolution, careers advice, or justice.
  • Strong research skills in a particular area, e.g. co-production of research with participants, working with large datasets, data visualisation, etc.
