Senior Early Years Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Midlothian Council. As a key member of our Early Years team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and care to young children and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of Early Years practitioners to ensure the delivery of high-quality education and care to young children.
- Develop and implement service plans and programs that meet the needs of children and families.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of local and national policy, research, and legislation related to early years education and care.
- Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality education and care.
- Hold a practitioner-level qualification in childcare and early years education (e.g. SVQ3, HNC, or equivalent).
- Have experience in a childcare environment and hold the necessary qualifications for SSSC registration.
- Hold the Level 2 Child Protection and Risk Assessment and Process Training, Elementary Food Hygiene, and First Aid for Childcare Certificate.
- Have proven leadership qualities, good communication, organizational, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to demonstrate a passion and flair for working with young children and families, as well as a commitment to equality and social inclusion.
- BA in Childhood Practices
- Froebel qualification
- Experience of supporting children with ASN, knowledge of positive behavior strategies, and experience of using a family learning approach to support children and families.
