Music Teacher Job Description

At Inspired Education Group, we are seeking a talented Music Teacher to join our team. As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching singing to students of all levels, providing individual music lessons, and encouraging performance opportunities and participation in ensembles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide proper supervision of students during lesson times as appropriate while on the school's premises and ensure that students comply with the school's reasonable standards of conduct and behavior.
  • Record and maintain a register using SOCS.
  • Provide parents with a written report on the progress of students at least once a year.
  • Observe such reasonable and lawful policies and procedures as shall be notified to them by the school.
Requirements:
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students across the age and ability range.
  • Ability to relate well to young people.
  • Ability to build students' musicianship, technique, and confidence.
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
  • Effective IT skills.
  • Excellent teaching skills.
  • An accomplished singer with relevant qualifications and/or professional experience.
  • Experience of teaching instrumental music lessons to prep school age pupils.
  • Knowledge of the ABRSM and other examining boards.
