Job Title: Public Safety and Security Specialist
Purpose of the job: As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our site. This role involves working in external areas, often in varying weather conditions, and requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsible to: Supervisors & Security Team Manager
External relationships: LS185 Management, Suppliers, Contractors, Venues, and members of the public.
Internal relationships: Supervisors, Ground security staff, Security Team Manager & Senior Contracts Manager.
Hours: Rotating shift pattern, 4 on 4 off days and nights, 12-hour shifts.
Rate: £13.15 per hour
Job Overview
- Safety and Security: Incident control and Response across all common, public, and venue areas of the LS185.
- Health, safety & welfare of all on the LS185 site.
- LS185 Buildings and Public Space Security and Safety.
- Reporting and Monitoring Incidents within the LS185 Footprint.
- Maintaining Contact with the Security Control Room.
- Crowd Management and Providing Solutions.
- Access Control Duties.
- Patrol Duties on Vehicular, Foot, or Other Means Available Over Wide Areas.
- Ensuring All Duties Are Carried Out Correctly.
- Ensuring All Incidents Are Logged and Managed Effectively Through to Completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Life Safety Equipment and Other Equipment Used by the Security Team Is in Working Order.
- Complete Weekly and Monthly Audits.
- Display a Smart and Professional Image at All Times.
- Assist the General Public and Those Visiting the LS185 with Any Queries, Problems, or Issues.
- Enforce Venue Rules.
- Manage Contractor Access to the LS185.
- Ensure Standards of Dress, Safety, and Presentation Are Maintained Within the LS185 at All Times.
- Show Initiative Where Possible.
- Adapt to Any Incident Within the LS185 in a Professional Manner and Manage It Accordingly.
- Provide a Visual Deterrent to Criminality, Gang Activity, and Anti-Social Behaviour.
Requirements:
- Relevant Industry Experience Preferred.
- Ability to Contribute Toward a Team's Operation or Work on Own Initiative.
- Excellent Communication and Problem-Solving Skills.
- Fluent in the English Language, Written, Verbal, and Reading.
- Capable of Resolving Issues.
- Decisive and Assertive Decision Maker.
- Excellent Report-Writing Skills with Attention to Detail.
- Excellent Organisational and Time Management Skills.
- A Positive Attitude to Dealing with People and Taking on Challenges.
- An Understanding of Large Mass Participation Events Would Be an Advantage.
- Full Driving Licence is Desirable.
- Valid SIA DS Licence.
- Valid SIA CCTV Licence is Desirable.
