Key responsibilities include:

  • Project Planning and Management: Lead production planning and team management, overseeing projects and influencing broader planning, manufacturing, and project processes.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Assist in managing project budgets by providing accurate estimates, quotes, and updates to the PMO on critical deadlines.
  • Production Scheduling: Develop and implement detailed production schedules to ensure timely delivery of all project components with the support of your team.
  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee supplier selection, specifications, negotiations, and ongoing management, ensuring external services and internal materials/stock are aligned with project needs and managed within their respective work cells.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure all projects meet design specifications and adhere to quality standards.
  • Leadership: Provide guidance and practical solutions to the in-house team on various project aspects, offering advice as needed.
  • Analytical Approach: Analyze shop floor data on production times to monitor performance, continuously improving planning and output. Deliver key KPI reports to enable effective performance monitoring for both yourself and the board.
  • People Management: Support your team in day-to-day decision-making, manage appraisals, and coordinate training. Collaborate with the leadership team on HR matters related to your staff. Serve as a critical link to other departments such as Project Management, Design, and Manufacturing.
  • Communication Improvement: Drive improvements in both processes and people within your team, implementing lean manufacturing techniques where applicable and leading continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in production management or a similar role.
  • Previous experience in coordinating manufacturing or production teams.
  • A valid UK Full driving license.
  • The ideal candidate will have a methodical, collaborative, and detail-oriented approach, with a strong focus on delivering projects on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and other relevant software.
  • Comfortable with generating, analyzing, and reporting on production data.
  • Strong attention to detail and the confidence to challenge existing processes to drive improvement.
  • Strong decision-making skills with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in maintaining a clean and organized shop floor environment.
