Electronics Hardware Specialist

Join our team at Innovate Recruitment Ltd in Glasgow and play a critical role in the development of safety-critical firmware for nuclear propulsion products and systems. As a Digital/FPGA Design Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing across all design phases using agile SCRUM methods and employing state-of-the-art toolsets.

You will work closely with the software, systems, and electronic teams to develop custom software toolsets for equipment firmware, addressing high safety integrity requirements. This presents opportunities within the firmware team for career growth in technical management, team leadership, or specialisation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Developing firmware requirements using DOORS.
  2. Writing VDL and Verilog HDL code using Sigasi Studio.
  3. Simulating HDL designs at unit, integration, and system level using Mentor Graphics QuestaSIM.
  4. Conducting synthesis, place and route, and static timing analysis using Synopsis for Xilinx FPGAs.
  5. Creating Python scripts to automate processes.
  6. Implementing change control and configuration management with GIT.

Requirements:

  • Degree Level or HND level in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Experience in hardware engineering.
  • Experience in digital electronics design.
