Locum Social Work Lead

About the Job:
Sheldon Phillips Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Social Work Lead to join our Referral and Assessment Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding children and assessing referrals made through the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
The ideal candidate will have strong experience and professionalism in managing diverse and complex cases, with a particular focus on Signs of Safety practice models. You will conduct immediate investigations of referrals, determine the next steps, and work collaboratively with children and families to ensure their welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of referrals to identify risks and determine the most suitable course of action.
- Engage and work professionally with children and families, using Signs of Safety practices to prioritize their needs and well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop comprehensive, holistic assessments and create effective, evidence-based plans.
- Communicate regularly with children, young people, and families, building trust and rapport to inform case planning.
- Manage complex situations involving mental health issues, substance misuse, domestic violence, and other factors, utilizing relevant social work theories and approaches.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case notes and records to reflect current assessments, actions, and planning.
- Participate in supervision and reflective practice to enhance professional growth and development.
