Company Overview

Hays Accountancy and Finance is seeking a highly skilled financial accountant to cover the year-end cycle from mid-December to the end of May. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a challenging role in a large construction company.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the preparation of the year-end financial statements for non-trading entities. They will work closely with internal stakeholders to meet reporting deadlines, liaise with the Group Tax manager to ensure tax disclosures are accurately reflected in the financial statements, and collaborate with the Group auditors on the audit of the financial statements with the aim to achieve signing by 30 April. Additionally, they will close out and document any audit issues that arise and support the Group Reporting team with ad-hoc requests associated with the audit of the consolidated Group or internal reporting to the Head Office as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must have a professional accounting qualification, such as ACA or ACCA. They should also have experience of financial reporting and statutory accounts preparation, as well as dealing with auditors and resolving audit queries. A demonstrable ability to form effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders and a detailed and analytical self-starter approach with a proactive attitude are essential. Knowledge of IFRS, FRS101, and FRS102 is also necessary.

This role offers a competitive day rate of £350-450 and is based in Watford. The position is hybrid, allowing for a balance between remote and office work. Salary Range

£35,000 - £45,000 per annum (pro-rata) based on a day rate of £350-450.
