Job Title: Shop Manager

Are you a motivated and organized individual with a passion for retail and customer service? We are seeking a Shop Manager to join our team in Abingdon, responsible for managing all aspects of our shop and driving sales and revenue for participating charities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the shop, including sales, customer service, and inventory management
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteers to maximize sales and revenue
  • Communicate and work effectively with other shop managers to ensure day-to-day operations are met
  • Meet sales targets and increase sales and profit for the shop
  • Manage stock levels, replenish stock as needed, and liaise with the Regional Manager to request top-ups
  • Set up and manage the EPOS system, train volunteers, and handle cash and banking procedures
  • Identify volunteer recruitment needs, develop recruitment campaigns, and cover shifts in the absence of volunteers
  • Support the marketing team with activities to raise the profile of the shop and organization in the local community
  • Take responsibility for rotas to ensure the shop is operational within its agreed opening hours
Requirements:
  • Experience in customer-facing environments and working under own initiative within an established commercial framework
  • Organizational skills, time management skills, and commercial awareness
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the retail sector, ideally within a charity context
  • Leadership skills, ability to communicate with a variety of people at different levels, and excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to respond to changing consumer and partner needs to maximize opportunities and build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
