About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our team as a Principal Pharmacist in Medicines Information. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the implementation and development of a redesigned service that can respond to the needs of NHS Scotland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently in their chosen clinical field at weekly sessions to ensure that learnings are used to make the clinical effectiveness service relevant to today's prescribing practices and beyond.
  • Contribute to the redesign of the service with a focus on clinical effectiveness, working with colleagues in medicines governance to progress the delivery of clinically effective prescribing within NHS Scotland.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across community pharmacy, primary and secondary care to ensure robust enquiry answering and post-marketing adverse drug reaction reporting.
  • Develop and implement a systematic approach to decision making, ensuring a strong clinical background and a personal commitment to continuing professional development.
Requirements
  • Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy (or similar subject), and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Proven organisational skills, a clear understanding of medicines enquiry answering, and governance around maintaining a medicines information service.
  • Dynamic, innovative, and engaging approach to service improvement.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary of £56,992 - £61,522, including weekend and public holiday commitments.
