We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our team at Heriot-Watt University. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering research in the area of Molecular Biology, working closely with our team to develop and test methods for enriching specific sequence variants from within cancer patient's cell free DNA samples.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct and manage research and related administrative activities, ensuring that project aims and objectives are met.
- Develop and plan research objectives in collaboration with the supervisory team.
- Present information on research progress and outcomes to project leads and research teams.
- Support the publication of research reports, conference papers, and indexed journal articles.
- Build and maintain relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ensure that all data collection is done ethically and in compliance with UK privacy and data protection policies.
- PhD degree in Molecular Biology or a related field.
- Experience of Molecular Biology protocols, including PCR and DNA sequencing.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and self-motivated, with a willingness to learn new skills.
