About the Opportunity:

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a 24-month postdoctoral research associate to work on an interdisciplinary project focusing on dynamic risk generated by sediment cascades from landslides, debris flows, and river flooding in the Himalaya.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing numerical models capable of exploring interactions between these processes. This role is full-time (35 hours per week), with flexible working arrangements possible.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Run mathematical models and interpret outputs
  • Analyse spatial data
  • Stay up-to-date with hazard and risk understanding
  • Communicate complex information clearly
  • Maintain good organisational skills and attention to detail

We Offer:

A competitive salary of £40,247-£47,874 (Grade UE07)

This opportunity is part of a larger project focused on dynamic risk generated by sediment cascades from landslides, debris flows, and river flooding in the Himalaya.
