About the Job

This exciting opportunity is available at our Bury St Edmunds Nursery, where you will be part of a supportive team dedicated to providing high-quality care and education to children.

The Perfect Candidate:

  • Must possess previous experience in a cooking or kitchen role, with a genuine passion for nutrition and healthy eating.
  • Ambitious individuals with a Food Safety CIEH L2 certification (or equivalent) and knowledge of COSHH and managing dietary requirements will excel in this position.
  • Excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work under pressure are essential qualities for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Chef in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external requirements and promoting child welfare, protection, health, and safety.
  2. Prepare meals for children, minimizing food wastage and adhering to dietary requirements.
  3. Assume kitchen responsibilities in the Chef's absence, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive and inclusive environment within the nursery setting.
