About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Business Development Lead to join our team at Devon County Council. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for securing business partnerships and funding to support the ongoing success and diversification of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities, working closely with our team to develop and implement effective strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external agencies, businesses, trusts, and grant givers to secure financial support for our initiatives.
  • Oversee our grants and partnership-related income, providing regular reports to our stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive impact and storytelling strategy to inspire donors and trusts to support our mission.
  • Lead and manage a small team, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop in their roles.
  • Develop and maintain corporate sponsorship and support to enable us to launch new initiatives and services for young people.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in business development, bid writing, and fundraising.
  • Strong track record of success in securing business partnerships and funding.
  • Passion for supporting and advocating for the rights of young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
