Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Regional Affairs Manager to promote our policy agenda to key stakeholders in the Midlands, Eastern region, and North of England. As a crucial member of our team, you will drive regional PR initiatives and collaborate closely with colleagues in Leeds and London.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Foster strong relationships with MPs, local councillors, Metro Mayors, members, businesses, and industry groups through daily engagement.
  • Work alongside Business Engagement Managers to create engaging content and campaigns that build regional connections across multiple channels.
  • Identify new opportunities to engage stakeholders and provide advice and regional intelligence internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with the Public Affairs and Public Relations team to develop stakeholder campaigns and networks supporting Public Affairs objectives.
  • Promote our work across core stakeholders and support their work with local authorities and devolved administrations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in public affairs and/or external affairs with an excellent understanding of the English regions' political landscape.
  • Strong communication skills for briefing senior leaders and representing at events, conferences, and public meetings.
  • Ability to simplify complex information and drive digital communication strategies like social media and blog posts.
  • Excellent networking skills to build connections for the benefit of our organisation.
  • A passion for the regions you'd be representing.
  • Familiarity with transport, infrastructure, and rail is advantageous.

Working Conditions:

This role is based in our Leeds office and requires collaboration between teams in Leeds and London. We offer a hybrid working arrangement with 4 days spent in the Leeds office and 1 day working from home.

Compensation: c£40,000 per annum
