Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled iOS Software Engineer to join our team at Nutmeg Saving and Investment Limited. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering high-quality product features to our native iOS application using Agile methodologies.
  • Taking ownership of tasks from estimation to release, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving defects, both existing and newly identified.
  • Writing comprehensive tests for all delivered code, adhering to best practices and standards.
  • Participating in bi-weekly releases and associated processes, ensuring seamless deployment.
  • Engaging in code reviews, promoting high code quality and continuous learning.
  • Sharing knowledge and participating in skill share sessions, contributing to the growth of the team and department.
  • Proposing, contributing, and collaborating on Technical Initiatives to improve and evolve our existing codebase and toolset.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Commercial experience in native iOS mobile application development.
  • Good knowledge of object-oriented programming with Swift and Xcode.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience writing unit tests using XCTest framework.
  • Experience with the MVVM + Coordinator design pattern.
  • Knowledge of best practices in mobile design, including human interface guidelines and threading.
  • Good knowledge of core iOS libraries and frameworks, such as UIKit, SwiftUI, Foundation, Security, and Combine.
  • Experience with iOS application deployment, including testing, approval, and publishing to the Apple Store.
  • Experience with automated CI/CD processes and tools, such as Bitrise.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting to maintain a production application.
  • Good understanding of REST and working with APIs.
  • Experience with Git flow.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a delivery team and interact with other parts of the organization.
  • Curious about new ways of working and open to different approaches and ideas.
  • Proactive and willing to help others and propose ideas.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

While not required, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable:

  • Experience writing UI tests using XCUITest or other frameworks.
  • Experience building or working with Design Systems, including UI development and white-labeling.
  • Experience with modularization and dependency injection.
  • Appreciation for Accessibility and understanding of how to meet Accessibility requirements.
  • Understanding of Mobile Application Security considerations.
  • Experience with feature flagging and A/B testing methodologies.
  • Experience in the FinTech sector.
  • Sharing your portfolio, including your Github, Stack Overflow, or app portfolio.
