About the Role:

This exciting opportunity is available for a Surveillance and Quality Improvement Professional to join our team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the Infection Prevention and Control agenda in meeting the Health and Social Care Act: Code of practice for the prevention and control of healthcare associated infections and CQC requirements.
  • Lead on reporting infection rate data to clinical teams and work in conjunction with teams to identify improvements and support implementation and sustaining of best practice in order to prevent and minimise the risk of healthcare associated infections.
  • Shape surveillance protocols supporting clinical teams with the implementation of best practice to reduce infection rates.

Requirements:

  • Experience of undertaking surveillance, audit and quality improvement.
  • Post registration clinical experience.
  • IT literate.
  • Awareness of governance, including quality, audit and risk management.
  • Experience of managing own workload.
  • Experience of problem solving.
  • Experience of policy development.
  • Experience of managing other staff.
  • Evidence of applying research in practice.
