In a leading engineering consultancy specializing in Building Services, we seek an exceptional Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design solutions on complex projects from initial concept through to final delivery. This opportunity represents a chance to represent the business in front of clients and architects, while providing mentorship and guidance to more junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design on complex and large-scale UK and International projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and industrial.
  • Manage the delivery of mechanical design solutions in accordance with British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Produce detailed mechanical designs and specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with performance requirements and energy efficiency standards.
  • Undertake detailed calculations and simulations to validate the mechanical design solutions.
  • Attend site visits and meetings with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and design team members to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Mentor junior engineers to ensure their development and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging mechanical design technologies and practices.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years' UK experience in mechanical design engineering within the building services industry.
  • Ideal Chartered Engineer status.
  • Knowledge and experience of British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Competitive Salary and Benefits Package: The salary for this role is £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a competitive benefits package and ongoing training and development opportunities to Associate level and beyond.
