Overview:Northern Marine Group is seeking a Ship Superintendent to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to take their career to the next level and be part of a dynamic company.
Salary:The salary for this position is estimated to be around £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Job Description:You will be responsible for ensuring all Company vessels under your control are maintained in a safe and seaworthy condition in accordance with the requirements/instructions issued by the client, the Company's Senior Management, flag state administrations and classification societies.
- Acting as principal point of contact between ship and shore-based staff.
- Monitoring vessels under their control to ensure all statutory requirements concerning certification, safe manning, safety procedures, plant and machinery are complied with.
- Providing advice to vessels staff and Company management within their area of expertise.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Qualifications to perform as a key member of the shipboard management team to fulfil the rank of at least second engineer or chief officer.
- At sea experience with experience as part of the onboard management team (SMT).
- Onshore experience at Shipping Company – Operations.
- Knowledge of ISM/ISPS/MLC.
- Keen knowledge of vessel operations, technical to include safety procedures in either chemical, oil, gas tankers operations.
