Transport Planner Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team in Hampshire. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for managing the transportation of goods to specialist areas, planning routes, and scheduling drivers' routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within a busy transport office to coordinate the transportation of goods
  • Manage the transportation of goods to specialist areas
  • Plan and optimize routes to ensure efficient delivery
  • Schedule drivers' routes to meet customer requirements
  • Liaise with clients to ensure their requests are met and updates are provided in case of any issues
  • Liaise with drivers to ensure the smooth delivery of goods within agreed time frames and manage any issues that arise

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Transport and Logistics
  • Experience in route planning (although this can be taught)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of organization and administration skills
  • Good geographical knowledge of Hampshire
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change
