Project Cost Manager

AVK-SEG Ltd is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to support our Project team in the commercial aspects of our business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for quantifying, budgeting, and managing costs of works for all AVK-SEG Ltd projects.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical and Electrical M&E contracting, with excellent analytical and numerical skills. You will be able to work at all levels from end client through to our sub-contractor supply chain, ensuring risk reduction on terms and conditions, cash flow on projects, and final account payments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Quantifying, budgeting, and managing costs of works for all AVK-SEG Ltd projects
- Reviewing and approving contract terms and conditions, managing commercial correspondence to clients and our supply chain
- Overseeing and managing commercial aspects of AVK-SEG Ltd projects, working closely with the project sales and project delivery teams
- Providing input and guidance on tender submissions and projects, analyzing all options available to ensure client expectations are met within budgeted costs further enhancing value for money
- Assisting in all processes required to safely deliver our client projects while maintaining compliance to company procedures and policies
- Advising the Project Management Team of any potential over-spends, non-compliances, and any issues that may arise on a project
- Undertaking and assisting with the valuing of variations and change orders throughout the project, working closely with the Project Management Team
- Monitoring actual performance on active projects against agreed budgets
- Interpreting drawings, specifications, contracts, and programmes to ensure the business is aware of opportunities and risk
- Reporting monthly to the Project Management Team
- Assisting in the procurement of materials for ongoing projects, securing best value
- Producing cashflows with the PM's to ensure AVK-SEG Ltd remains cash positive
- Placing sub-contractor orders
- Project cash flow
- Monthly Cost & Value reconciliation reports
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you should have:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a M&E Quantity Surveyor
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and quantity surveying principles
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Full UK driving licence
- Cost planning skills and experience of successful project delivery on or under agreed budgeted cost
