Materials Scientist

Your Role:

You'll explore the unique properties of materials, drive the development of new compounds, and provide expert guidance to our clients. Your hands-on approach to problem-solving, combined with your technical presentation skills, will enable you to lead projects and collaborate with our team to achieve success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project work, collaborating with colleagues and other teams to deliver results.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging materials and technologies to drive innovation.
• Develop your own CPD and support your colleagues in theirs.
• Engage with customers and suppliers to present a positive image of James Walker.
• Drive the development of new materials within the business.
• Travel within the UK and overseas as necessary to support our clients.
• Prepare and present technical papers at conferences as opportunities arise.
• Assist in the creation of promotional literature and training sessions for our colleagues and clients.
• Provide technical support to our clients and James Walker Group companies.
• Review and prepare patent applications as needed.
• Monitor and develop materials to meet customer and industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, ISPE).

About You:

We're looking for individuals with a degree in a science-based subject and relevant experience in a similar role. Your strong project leadership and technical presentation skills will enable you to succeed in this position.
