About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team at Westlakes Recruit. As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for producing 3D models of mechanical systems, including pipe routes, HVAC systems, and mechanical compartment arrangements, using CAD toolsets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop 3D models of mechanical systems using CAD toolsets, including Foran, Solidworks, and Siemens NX.
  • Produce 2D drawings and electronic data, as well as Bill of Materials (BoM) item development, to support manufacturing, installation, and testing of products.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with other Design team members and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to produce integrated designs that meet client expectations and agreed-upon requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of CAD toolsets and techniques, including 2D and 3D outputs.
  • Experience in mechanical routed systems, including piping and HVAC design, at both 2D and 3D levels.
  • Knowledge of mechanical compartment integration, room integration, and engineering standards at the component/equipment level.
  • HNC/ONC level or degree qualification in a relevant STEM subject or equivalent work experience.
