Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Waste Management Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial waste teams, ensuring effective resource deployment and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commercial services, including waste and recycling, to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Lead the development of new revenue generation initiatives and strategies.
  • Manage and oversee the operational staff, ensuring efficient deployment of resources and high-quality customer service.
  • Liaise with the Waste & Recycling and Litter & Cleansing operational team to ensure services are run in the most efficient manner.
  • Ensure contract generation aligns with agreed targets, from initial customer contact to sales conversion.
  • Manage and oversee the management of complaints, client's letters, and MP/Member enquiries regarding income-generating services.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in management, with a strong background in waste management.
  • Good awareness of Health and Safety legislation in the workplace.
  • Experience of working in a Customer Service environment, with strong communication skills.
  • Budget management and income generation experience.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with good organisational skills.
  • Competent IT user, able to learn and use different packages and systems.

This is a temporary role for a 7-month period, covering for maternity leave. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
