Primary Teaching Assistant Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning.

Job Overview:

This is a temporary position with potential for a permanent role based on performance. The successful candidate will provide support to teachers in the planning and delivery of lessons, support students in both individual and group settings, foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, assist with classroom management and behaviour support, and collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure the well-being and progress of students.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lesson Planning and Delivery:
  • Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide support to students during lessons to ensure they understand the material.
Student Support:
  • Support students in individual and group settings to ensure they meet their educational goals.
  • Identify areas where students may need additional support and develop strategies to address these needs.
Classroom Management and Behaviour Support:
  • Assist teachers with classroom management and behaviour support.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and reduce conflict.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure the well-being and progress of students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to keep them informed about their child's progress.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the educational development of students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.

Salary: £80-£100 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
