The Role

We are seeking experienced Project Managers to join our team and support our client projects. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing project management services for new and ongoing contracts within the Department, working closely with the Projects Team to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that projects meet their agreed objectives and deliverables.
  • Manage various factors, including:
    • Financial management and budgeting.
    • Change management and control.
    • Risk management and mitigation.
    • Scope and contractual requirements.
    • Project reviews and progress monitoring.
    • Customer relationship management and communication.
    • Contract variations and negotiations.
    • Customer visits and meetings.
    • Customer reporting and updates.
  • Ensure that project information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Liaise with other departments within MacTaggart Scott to resolve any conflicts or issues related to schedule, cost, or resources.
  • Manage and report on the financial performance of allocated projects.
  • Ensure that invoices are raised in accordance with contractual conditions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities or variations to current contracts.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in the defence industry.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of contractual requirements.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
  • Ability to persuade and influence people to elicit cooperation.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to manage and lead others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other office software.
