About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our client secondary school in Portsmouth on a temporary basis. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in accessing the curriculum and achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND, adapting learning materials and activities to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior plans.
  • Support the class teacher in managing classroom behavior and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student engagement and independence.
  • Help with the preparation and organization of learning resources and materials.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including the SENDCo, to monitor and report on student progress.
  • Assist with personal care needs as required, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all students.
