Safety Manager (Air Domain) Opportunity

Matchtech is seeking a highly skilled SC Cleared Safety Manager with experience working in the Air Domain to join our client, a prominent player in the defence industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver against the overarching programme and established safety management plan.
  • Evolve and advise the safety programme to de-risk delivery and capitalise on opportunities.
  • Work with assigned delivery teams to produce safety artefacts to time and quality requirements.
  • Advise the team to ensure the programme will deliver artefacts to demonstrate that policy, legislation, and defence regulation have been met and that assets are demonstrably safe.
  • Represent the team at required safety engagements, including regulatory interface, and brief up and down.
  • Responsible for day-to-day activity, delivering against agreed activity and tasks.

Essential Skills:

  • Practitioner level experience of safety management systems and processes (POSMS).
  • Practitioner level experience of leading air safety management tasks.
  • Practitioner level experience of:
    • Safety and Environmental Management Plans.
    • Safety Case / Safety Case Report.
    • Operation of safety review meetings

Desirable Skills:

  • Type Certification Experience
  • Working within Air Domain
  • Working within DE&S Airworthiness Team (DAT)
  • Fault and Event Tree (FTA / ETA).
  • Safety arguments (CAE / GSN).
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulation and standards and defence policy.
