About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our team at Jet2. As a key member of our data delivery team, you will play a crucial role in designing and delivering innovative data solutions to complex business problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain complex data pipelines working with data from various sources, including databases, flat files, APIs, and event-driven data feeds.
  • Data Modelling and Design: Design and lead the modelling, transformation, and cleansing of data into our enterprise data warehouse for consumption by technical and non-technical users.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of Senior, Mid, and Junior Level Data and Analytics Engineers, and be involved in the recruitment and ongoing development of the team.
  • Data-First Culture: Drive a data-first culture within the data team and across the business by supporting continual learning and development within your team and data enablement activity across the wider business.
Requirements
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in development of data pipelines, data modelling, and data warehousing, ideally using dbt.
  • Cloud Data Warehousing: Experience working with cloud data warehouse technology, such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse.
  • Agile Delivery: Experience working in an Agile delivery environment, ideally using Scrum and/or Kanban.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
